Mr Akin Akin-Oyediran, Managing Director, Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company, in Akwa Ibom, says the company produces 1.7 million syringes daily.
Akin-Oyediran, who disclosed this at an interactive session with newsmen in Onna, on Thursday, added that the company had an average daily demand of 2.5 million syringes.
According to him, the firm was able to meet the market requirements because of the commitment and tenacity of its workforce.
The managing director stated that the company was committed to producing quality syringes in the interest of public health, saying, ”Our products are widely used, and our quality is internationally certified.
”Our target is to compete with the best global brands in syringe production,” he added.
He said that the success story of the factory so far was purely borne out of the zeal to do things correctly.
” We are committed to producing quality syringes; we are also doing well to promote our brand to enthrone acceptability. We all know that apart from production, brand management and driving of sales are crucial,” he said.
Akin-Oyeduran identified rising exchange rate and cost of raw materials as major challenges facing the company.
The managing director revealed that part of the firm’s extension plan was to add other pharmaceutical products on its production list, adding,”We shall soon introduce products such as face masks, gloves, single use needles, amongst others.
”We have a cordial and mutually rewarding relationship with our host community, we hope to sustain this,” he also said.
Reports state that Jubilee Syringe Factory is a Public-Private-Partnership investment located in Awa, Onna Local Government Area.
