Job creation will address insecurity in Nigeria — Abuja Monarch

By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka

The Chief of Jiwa Chiefdom, Abuja,  HRH Idris Musa has said the creation of job opportunity for the teaming unemployed Nigerian youths, by investing heavily by the governments at all levels and business men and women within and outside the country will address insecurity in Nigeria.

The Chief made the call recently in his palace during the recently celebrated Salah.

Thanking God for making it possible for them to witness 2021 Salah, while calling for enable environment which will give job opportunities to the youth, he said: “My appeal to Nigerians is that we should be our brothers’ keepers. What is killing us in this country are among others, religious sentiment, tribal sentiment and greediness. That is what is killing the country and any country that is in corruption and similar vices doesn’t progress; they will continue to fall.

“That is why, common citizens in the country are trying to pursue the rich. A common man now will kidnap you and put you in the bush and tell you to pay billions and you will pay. It is our fault. So I appeal to well meaning Nigerians that pack their money inside their houses and outside the country to invest the money in the country, develop the country, so as to give employment and accommodate those who are doing nothing.

“If you go to work from 6am and come back by 6pm, when will you have the time to plan evil, because after going out very early and coming back late, the next thing for you is to rest. Engagement of our youths in employment will reduce crime and criminalities to the barest minimum.”

In the area he would like the government to improve upon in the country, Idris Musa said, “Insecurity is government’s issue. There are many laws that say, if you catch somebody who committed crime, you won’t treat him the way he should be treated.

“If an armed robber came to your house with gun and dealt with you and you caught him and took him to court, you will see a lawyer protecting him; to free him from that place, which means that we are aiding them. That is what is happening now. Because there is law that is protecting them, I am appealing to God to touch their hearts to stop such.”

Still speaking on the way out from insecurity, which he said was everybody’s business, the royal father therefore said that everyone coming together with singlemindness would reduce the ugly trend to the barest minimum.

He however reiterated the need for the government and those who pack their money inside to invest them in this country and engage youths. “If you engage them, how can they come and harm you?” he asked.
