Jigawa: Water experts from Netherland to cooperate with Jigawa to address annual flooding

Jigawa State Government has signed an agreement with a team of water experts from Netherland with a view to bring a lasting solution to annual flooding that is devastating the state.

The team that was led by Mr Erick who is a water expert from Netherland will be working with water experts in the state to bring about a lasting  solution to flooding problems.

Speaking at Government House, Governor Badaru Abubakar said the main purpose of bringing the water  expert to the state is to discuss with the local experts in the state a synergy to work together.

Adding  that the local experts in the state will work with Netherland professionals to bring an end to annual flooding that yearly damages farm land and destroys millions of naira worth of properties .

Badaru confirmed that the professionals will stay in Jigawa State for good five days to enable them go round the state to see thing by themselves and also physically acts on it.

The local experts and the foriegn counterparts will work together in order to find permanent solution to control the issue of annual flooding that annual destroys properties and farm produce which subjects people to serious abject poverty .

Badaru charged the experts to work judiciously by bringing permanent solution that would make the water to be useful for irrigation purpose and also utilised in providing drinking water to communities across the state.

He assured that the work after completion is not only going to benefit the state alone, but the neighbouring states such as: Kano, Bauchi and Yobe, under Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Authourity.
