A total of 746 person have recieved the sum of N2,024,772,779.47 as their pension benefits in Jigawa state.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State contributory pension scheme Alh Kamilu Aliyu Musa in a press conference organised by the board in his office.
He explained that 144 staffs of the state ministries recieved the sum of N476,380,913.05 as their pension benefits, and 83 person who retired at local government level also recieved the sum of N161,813,407.14 while at the local education Authority 411 person retired Recieved the sum of N1.146,102,741.36.
This makes a total of 638 person who retired from service from state, local government and education Authority to recieved the sum of N1,785,297,061.55 billion as their retirement benefits .
For the death benefit the Jigawa state pension scheme paid a total sum of N212,071,042,96, which includes 27 people working with state government whose families received the sum of N 93,901,420.96 and that of the local government 22 persons were recorded who received the payment of N44,413,566.00 .
For the local education Authority 29 persons recorded died and their family received the sum of N73,756,086,.00 which make a total of 78 person died and the families revived their benefits of N212,071,062.96 as their benefits
Explained further that a total of 29 families the death benefits of their relation who died after their regiment but not reach period of five years after their retirement
The pension board has paid the sum of N26,856,455.06 as their pension balance to their families
Adding that only one person Recieved the sum of N548,219.90 as refund of eight percent of contribution among the state workers ,assured that non of the beneficiaries found under paid.
Alh Kamilu Musa explained that the total number of people who Recieved their terminal benefits from the state level are 179 and that for local government are 112 and for local education Authority are 455 which make a total of 746 person who Recieved the sum of N2,024,772,779.47 as their terminal benefits.
