The Jigawa State Government has approved the sum of N573,566,500 for the payment of tuition fees and registration for 5,751 female students of Bayero University, Kano, and Federal University, Dutse, for the 2023/2024 academic session.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Scholarship Board, Alh Saidu Magaji, the state government has also collaborated with 19 universities in Saudi Arabia to offer free scholarships to indigenes of Jigawa State.
Magaji disclosed this in an exclusive interview in his office, stating that the scholarship board had reviewed the agreement between the Jigawa State Government and educational institutions in Singapore and the United Kingdom.
“The state government has approved the sum of N573,566,500 for the payment of upward reviewed registration fees and refunds of registration to 5,751 female students and newly admitted as well as returning students at Bayero University, Kano, and Federal University, Dutse, for the 2023/2024 academic session,” Magaji said.
He added that the scholarship board had also finalized preparations to settle the 2024/2025 tuition fees and other allowances for students on foreign studies. “We have collaborated with 19 universities in Saudi Arabia to offer free scholarships to Jigawa State indigenes,” Magaji said.
