Jigawa Govt. approves Creativity/Innovation Week

The Jigawa government has approved the Creativity and Innovation Week, to promote creativity and innovation among the youths in the state.

Mr Sagir Musa, Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sport and Culture, said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Dutse.

He said the State Executive Council (SEC) approved the commoration of the week to commence in 2025.

This, he said, was in line with Gov. Umar Namadi administration’s commitment to talent development towards fostering the spirit of creativity and innovation among the youths.

Musa said the council also approved N516 million for the purchase of 184 return tickets in respect of 185 indigent  students undergoing medical courses at the Near East University, Cyprus, for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The SEC further directed the Security Guards Companies engaged by the state government, to allow female security operatives to wear Hijab (veil), to cover themselves during duty hours.

The Jigawa government engaged the services of 9,969 security operatives comprising males and females, to secure schools, hospital and other public places.
