Farmers in Jigawa State have commended Governor Umar Namadi for the timely distribution of agricultural inputs, which they say will boost food production and improve their livelihoods.
The farmers, who received fertilisers, seeds, herbicides, and insecticides under the Jigawa FADAMA CARES program in Dutse, praised the governor for addressing a long-standing challenge that had historically led to reduced yields and economic hardships.
According to Malam Usman, a local farmer, “This year, we received our fertilisers at the time when the plants needed it most, unlike before. This timely intervention means we can now maximise our crop yields, and we’re hopeful for a bountiful harvest.”
The state FADAMA CARES Coordinator, Aliyu Inuwa, emphasised the importance of timely agricultural inputs in boosting productivity. “We understand the importance of timely agricultural inputs in boosting productivity. This is part of the Jigawa State commitment to ensure it leads in agricultural production, and this is one of the steps towards achieving that,” he said.
Under the NG-CARES phase 4 of the FADAMA program, a total of 26,000 farmers were facilitated with three bags of fertiliser, improved seeds, herbicides, and insecticides.
