Jigawa approves N6.5bn for security, pension, electricity

The Jigawa State Government has approved the sum of N6.5 billion for various projects, including security, pension, and electricity.
The state council approved N413.2 million for the procurement of vehicles to strengthen the fight against crime and improve security patrol.
Also, the council approved N1.543 billion for the payment of outstanding retirement benefits of state pensioners.
The state government also released N1 billion for the payment of its share in the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) as part of its efforts to improve electricity supply in the state.
Other approvals include N304 million for the procurement of official vehicles and N595 million for the supply and installation of solar-powered streetlights in semi-urban towns across the state.
