IPMAN congratulates Enugu governor-elect, tasks him on downstream sector in S’East

Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has congratulated Mr Peter Mba, of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on his emergence as Enugu State governor-elect.

Mba was declared winner by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday with 160,895 votes, ahead of Labour Party’s Chijioke Edeoga who scored 157,552 votes.

The governor-elect is the Chairman/Managing Director of Pinnacle Oil Plc, one of the largest tank farm operators in Nigeria.

Mr Chinedu Anyaso, Chairman of IPMAN, Enugu Depot Community in charge of Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states, in his congratulatory message, described Mba’s victory as hard-fought but well-deserved.

Anyaso said that the victory was for the petroleum marketers in Enugu zone in particular and Nigeria in general.

“It is with great excitement that we received the victory of one of our own, Mr Peter Mba of Pinnacle Oil this morning. I must say that he worked for his election and he deserves his win.

“He is not only experienced, he has what it takes to take Enugu State to a higher level. We, the marketers in the zone, wish to congratulate him and promise to work with him for a better society,” he said.

Anyaso called on the governor-elect to use his vast experience and capacity in the petroleum industry to address the challenges of the downstream sector in the zone.

He said that Mba should also work with other South-East governors to revitalise the moribund Enugu depot and ensure the establishment of tank farms to ease the problem of distribution of petroleum products.

“We pray for his success in Enugu State. We pray for his success in helping to transform the downstream sector and we congratulate the people of the state, just as we ask for their support,” he said.
