IPEN, LCCI strategise to promote Insurance, Pension service delivery
The Insurance and Pension Editors of Nigeria (IPEN) and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) are strategising to enhance better customer service delivery from insurance companies and Pension Fund Administrators(PFAs) in the country.
To this end, the executive of IPEN paid a courtesy visit to LCCI headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos where the group met the director general (DG) of Chamber to discuss ways of ensuring pension and insurance outfits continues to offer premium services to customers.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, IPEN President, Mr. Chuks Udo Okonta, said, his group is interested in developmental journalism, such that, consumers of insurance and Pension products are given a voice to share their experiences when using the services of insurers and PFAs.
As a strategic body of Organised Private Sector(OPS), Okonta, who is also the Publisher of InspenOnline, said, the strategic meeting with LCCI was intended at guaging the feeling of members to know how satisfied they are and where they want improvement in the services beinf rendered by operators of insurance and pension outfits.
Responding, the director general, LCCI, Dr. Chinyere Almona, appreciated IPEN for the visit, saying, the motive of her chamber and that of the insurance Editors group were similar.
She disclosed that LCCI already has a committee that addresses all insurance concerns of members while the chamber is mooting the idea of having a Pension group that will attend to all pension-related issues.
Promising to work with the group to ensure consumers of insurance and pension products are exposed to quality service delivery, she vowed to link IPEN to the chamber’s insurance committee who will be able to give better information about members’ experiences.
On his part, the head, Corporate Communications, LCCI, Mr. Sunday Osanyintuyi, said the chamber is ever ready for strategic partnership such as this, noting that, his department will provide the necessary support for the group in its ambition of enhancing developmental journalism, which is a unique method of fair and credible information dissemination.
