Investors gain N187.2bn, as equities market closes positively

Investors at the Nigerian Exchange gained N187.2 billion as the Equities Market closed positively by 340.85 basis points.

The NGX All-Share Index advanced by 0.51 percent, closing at 67,217.77 basis points, compared to the previous day’s gain of 0.06 percent, which closed at 66,876.92 basis points. The NGX Market CAP also recorded a gain of N187.26 billion in Naira terms.

The total volume traded advanced by 1.68 percent  to close at 319.90 million, valued at N6.33 billion and traded in 6,272 deals. ACCESSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 50.78 million units, while GTCO was the most traded stock by value with N1.50billion traded.

The Gote Index advanced by 0.39 percent to close at 180.62, while the Toni index advanced by 1.91 percent to close at 353.69 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 21 gainers, 13 losers, and 83 unchanged. FLOURMILL topped the gainers list, while VFDGROUP topped the list of losers.

Thus, market breadth closed positively as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is 0.10x.

Meanwhile, ACCESSCORP had the highest volume contribution with 15.87 percent, while GTCO and FIDELITYBNK followed closely behind.

According to the value chart, GTCO is at the top with a 23.65 percent contribution. ACCESSCORP and GEREGU follow closely behind.
