Investors gain 0.13% in equities market

Transaction of Nigerian exchange limited (NGX) closed positively amidst sell-offs and buy-interests as the benchmark All Shares Index gained 61.39 absolute points.

The NGX ASI show a significant appreciation yesterday by 61.39 absolute points representing 0.13 per cent to close at 46,904.48 index points  from 46,843.09 index points it opened yesterday.

Similarly, Overall market Capitalisation of listed equities increased after trading  by 0.13 per cent to 25.278 trillion from 25.245 trillion recorded on Tuesday. The result presented by NGX shows appreciation of market capitalisation to 33 billion.

Since the week  opened  trade volume has been  decline for three days consecutively, Yesterday trading reveals declination of 6 per cent to 201,280,147 million units valued at N2.620 billion exchange in 4,017 deals.

MIDWEEK BEST ADVANCERS

As the marketing activities starts today, IKEJAHOTEL recorded as the highest price gainer which rose from 0.12 kobo representing 10.00 per cent increased to close trade at N1.32 per share. Followed by CORNEST which appreciated by 10.00 per cent or 0.06 kobo increased to close trade at N0.66 per share, While ETERNA grew by 9.82 per cent or 0.49 kobo increased to close trade at N5.48 per Share, MEYER gained 0.05 kobo to represent 9.09 per cent increased to close trade at N0.60 per share and CHAMS which emerged as the best fifth gainer rose by 0.01 kobo to represent 5.00 per cent increased to close trade by N0.21 per share.

MIDWEEK WORST LOSERS

On the activity chart, CADBURY came as the most loser which depreciated by 0.60 kobo to represent 6.67 per cent to close trade at N8.40 per share, JAPAULGOLD followed as the second best loser which down by 5.88 per cent or 0.02 kobo to close trade at N0.32 per share, While PZ CUSSION dipped by 0.60 kobo representing 5.36 per cent to close trade at N10.60 per share. ROYALEX EXCHANGE came as the fourth best loser which declined by 5.22 per cent or 0.06 kobo to close trade at N1.09 per share and WAPIC INSURANCE PLC dropped by 4.17 per cent or 0.02 kobo to close trade at N0.46 per share.

On the table chart,transaction of ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED topped the table ,which traded 61.893 million shares valued at 742.033 million. Accompanied by ACCESSCORP which  traded 29.473 million shares worth 294.919 million While ZENITH BANK transacted 15.835 million shares valued at 361.799 million.FIDELITY BANK traded 11.372 million shares worth 35.637 million and lastly TRANSCORP traded 9.839 million shares valued at 9.806 million.
