Lagos State Government has said the task of building a prosperous nation can not be accomplished without building the youths believed to be the leaders of tomorrow.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Pharm (Mrs) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu at the opening ceremony of 2022 Ibile Youth Academy Leadership Training Camp held at Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) IDP Camp, Igando on Monday, said the growth of the Country lies much in youth development.

Pharm (Mrs) Oke-Osanyintolu charged the 50 participants selected from the first phase of the training earlier held across the five Divisions in the state to give a good account of themselves by behaving responsibly and participating actively in every aspect of the leadership training programme.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the criteria that the Assessors would use to determine who would become the next State Ambassador and Divisional Ambassadors at the end of the Camp Programme included: cognitive domain, affective domain and psychomotor.

The Camping Programme, the 2nd phase of the Leadership Training, involved five overnight stay away from home with a range of activities and approaches offering various programmes that will build the youth in terms of health, physical, personal, social, cognitive, citizenship and civic competencies while emphasizing learning strategies based upon fun, play, action group and individual challenges.

Pharm (Mrs) Oke-Osanyintolu informed the selected best 50 participants for the Training Camp that they were already members of the 2022/2023 Lagos Youth Ambassadorial team expected to collaborate with the ‘STATE YOUTH AMBASSADOR 2022’ and ‘DIVISIONAL YOUTH AMBASSADORS’ in their various areas.

Responding on behalf of the Ambassadors, Miss Aderomu Ayomiku, representing Lagos Division assured the State Government to put in their best to justify the resources being expended on them in the course of training.
