Insurgency: Police urge residents to prioritize safety in Kaduna

Kaduna state Police Command, has urged residents to prioritize their safety amid rising insurgency threats.

The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna state CP Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the appeal in a press statement issued to journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday by the State’s Police Spokesperson, ASP Mansur Hassan.

The CP advised residents to verify the identity of visitors, especially at night, before granting them access to their homes, emphasizing that in the case of police officers or other security personnel, individuals should request official identification to ensure their authenticity before responding.

Mansur said, “the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Ibrahim Abdullahi, psc, mni, has urged residents of Kaduna State to prioritize their safety and adopt precautionary measures to enhance security, particularly during nighttime. 

“He advised residents to verify the identity of visitors, especially at night, before granting them access to their homes. He emphasized that in the case of police officers or other security personnel, individuals should request official identification to ensure their authenticity before responding.

“The Commissioner also called on citizens to strengthen community security efforts by engaging their local vigilante groups. Highlighting the shared responsibility of safety, the CP said, “Security is everybody’s business, not only the police.

“He further encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals, reinforcing the importance of the principle “When you See something, say something.

“As we go deep into the Ember months, the CP reassured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peace and security across the state.“
