Insecurity: Our challenges are surmountable through fervent prayers-Oyetola

…..tasks religious leaders to intercede relentlessly

Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola has asserted  that the arrays of challenges facing Nigeria are surmountable through prayers, calling on religious leaders to continue to intercede.

He expressed strong optimism that Nigeria would overcome all her present challenges with persistent  and fervent prayers from the citizenry.

That is even as he ascribed every success recorded by his administration since inception  to unimaginable favour of  God, saying his administration has been able to sustain the prompt and full payment of workers’ salaries to all categories of the work force despite the limited resources accruing to the state.

Oyetola, made these known on Tuesday  in his office, while receiving in audience members of the Central Planning Committee of Pentecost Day celebration,  led by the convener,  Bishop Mike Bamidele.

The Pentecost Day celebration is an annual prayer session, which began in 2014 in the state  among the members of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecost Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

The Governor, who spoke through his Deputy,  Mr Benedict Alabi,  stressed that prayers from the  people of God have  been the bedrock and sustaining factor  of his administration.

“All our national challenges would be overcome without blemish,  if only we can continue to seek for help from the above through people of God.

“Here in Osun, we  believe so much in prayers because that is the  cornerstone of our administration and we shall always be grateful to you for your efforts and supports through prayers over the years”,Oyetola said.

Speaking earlier, Bishop Mike Bamidele,  thanked Governor Oyetola for promoting equity, fairness and unity among different religious faiths  in the state.

Bishop Bamidele said the Pentecost Day celebration as it’s being observed  all over the world was very significant as it symbolises supernatural empowerment of mankind.

” We are here to offer our prayers for the state and the nation to seek the wisdom of God for you as leaders and drivers of governance in our state and the country at large.

” This is a time to pray again for the state and the country for God to offer  help from above to tackle problems confronting us as a nation,” Bishop Bamidele hinted.
