Insecurity: Nigeria Correctional Service, FRSC pledge to work together

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have pledged to work together to ensure adequate security in Enugu state.

The two establishments made the pledge when the FRSC Commander in the state, Mr Joseph Udoabba visited the NCoS in Enugu on Friday.

Udoabba said such partnership became necessary given the security challenge in the southeast.

According to him, there is need for synergy and intelligence sharing report among the sister agencies to make the state better.

“This does not mean we are competing but if we want to win the fight against insecurity in the southeast, we share intelligence information.

“I am happy to have visited your office and the beauty of uniform job is collaboration and good working relationship with sister security agencies.

“In serving Enugu people, we must do it jointly for effective results,” Udoabba said.

He emphasised the need for teamwork among the security agencies in the state, saying they would achieve more if they work collectively.

“We need to understand each other and work together. I will not hesitate to get in touch with you if there is any issue,” he said.

The commander commended harmony and mutual relationship between FRSC and other traffic agencies in the state.

“If they need our services, we will attend to them and there is no conflict of interest.

“We have academy and on yearly basis we train some of their heads to ensure professionalism,” he added.

Responding, the Controller of NCoS, Mr Joseph Emelue said that nation building required adequate teamwork and synergy among the security agencies.

“We will work with your office to ensure your goal is achieved.

“We have existing working relationship with your department and we will ensure its continuity,” Emelue said.
