Insecurity: Kaduna PDP chieftain slams FG over Buhari son’s chieftaincy title
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Dr. Abraham William, on Monday blasted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government for increased banditry attacks, killings and destructions of properties across the country.
William, who was angered by the recurring insecurity in the country, further noted that in spite of the attacks coupled with daily killings, the APC-led government of President Buhari finds time to attend the conferment of chieftaincy title on Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari.
“Bandits are killing Nigerians hourly, abducting innocent Nigerians daily, and demanding for huge sums as ransoms per second, while houses of their targets are being set on fire the moment they searched for their victims but could not find them, yet, honourable members dance and wine with Yusuf Buhari over the confinement of chieftaincy title in Katsina state,” he said.
It was recalled that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo led other government officials and party chieftains including the governors of Katsina, Bello Masari; and Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje; the Senate President Ahmed Lawan; Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, among other personalities to the turbaning ceremony of President Muhammed Buhari’s son in Katsina.
Speaking to Newsmen in an exclusive interview on the state of the nation, Dr. William noted that the general task at hand now is bandits attack or insecurity that has made several people, including those personalities who attended the turbaning ceremony in Katsina, unstable.
According to him, the bandits have no respect for anyone, including the president, yet the government has not provided an urgent solution, rather it went on fanfare that has no tangible impact on Nigerians.
” What we all need now is guaranteed security of lives and properties. To be free from bandits attack.
“If the Federal Government could not find an immediate solution to the attack, it means our lives are not guaranteed. Bandits have killed several notable Nigerians, they are still killing. Most honourable members can no longer visit their home town for fear of being Kidnapped. Some have relocated their families outside the country. Yet, the same people, same representatives who make laws, could not find a lasting solution to incessant attack,” he said.
According to him, unless there is peace in the country, even the traditional title holder, could not sit in his domain to preside over the affairs of his people.
