Insecurity: Abiodun donates patrol vehicles, motorcycles

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday donated 10 patrol vehicles and 20 special motorcycles for the use of Joint Security Intervention Squad set up by the government to quell farmers/herders crisis in some parts of the state.

Gov. Abiodun at the handing over ceremony Tuesday evening said that the first batch of the vehicles and motorcycles would be deployed to three local governments of the state, that is, Yewa North, Yewa South and Imeko-Afon where the problem of herders/farmers clashes are currently pronounced.

Gov Abiodun said that the provision of the vehicles and motorcycles with communication gadgets was to further demonstrate the readiness of the government to bring the insecurity challenges under control.

The governor said that his administration would continue to invest in efforts at promoting peace and crush all manners of criminalities across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the security agencies in the state, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun lauded Gov. Abiodun for his commitment towards ensuring that peace reigns across the state.

Ajogun declared that with the government’s support from time to time, the security agencies are highly motivated to crack down on anyone that wants to disturb the peace of the state.
