Inflation: Nigerians, businesses must explore entrepreneurial skills with knowledge of finance – Experts
To cope with prevailing high rise of inflation and economic meltdown in the country, there is need for Nigerians and businesses to explore entrepreneurial skills that will enhance their financial knowledge in order to boost their income, experts who gathered for the “Financial Solution Training” organised by Jordan 105.5 FM for entrepreneurs in Lagos have noted.
Speaking, the CEO of Jordan FM, Lanre Johnson said entrepreneurs must prioritise value and financial knowledge in order to boost their income amidst the challenging business environment.
The CEO who was represented by Jordan FM Head of Operations, Chas Ideho said the radio station which has its core mandate as promoting entrepreneurship and adding value to the society, is compelled to give financial insight to people so as to secure their financial future.
He said whatever enterprise people are going into, if there is no value in it, they can never be successful, because it is the value that would form what the venture represents and make customers trust and believe in the brand.
“We can’t only be running entrepreneurship on radio; why don’t we have a physical interface interaction with people, and also give them tips on how to grow their business?
“While we teach them on radio every morning, we also need to take it out of the radio and bring it to the people. That’s why we decided to organise this training.
“It is the very first time we are handling this on our own and we are planning to do more, as we have been in partnership with the Lagos State Government, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Financial Institutions and Embassies to empower and keep empowering our people for a better Nigeria,” he said.
Lead Facilitator of the training, James Adeshina, said the drive behind the initiative is to empower people on basic digitally inclined skills to leverage on, and earn a living on the internet.
Adeshina said that if all they have been taught are been put to practice, they would not be among those that will be complaining of hard times in the country, rather they will be among those that are making money and speaking good things about Nigeria.
He added that skills that were being taught which ranges from Affiliate Marketing, Digital Marketing, Agric Business and Survey are practically based and can be assimilated easily.
Mayowa Owolabi who is also a facilitator at the training said participants were educated on how to be financially free by building a viable business structure.
“I am really excited to be part of this training, as we have hundreds of people here. The participants were taught on how to generate sales as an entrepreneur and increase their investment, while sharing their views and their challenges on how they can get better. I look forward to see more of this by Jordan FM as there is a lot of space out there to fill,” he said.
Participants who trooped out in large numbers from far and wide appreciated Jordan FM for the wonderful initiative, saying it is a lifetime opportunity for them as they gained a lot while undergoing the training.
