INEC promotes 1,731 staff over outstanding performance

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the promotion of 1,731 of its staff members following their outstanding performance in the recently conducted 2024 promotion examinations. This move is part of INEC’s broader strategy to reward excellence, foster career growth, and strengthen its workforce.

Adenike Tadese, the commission’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, revealed the development in an official bulletin released on Tuesday. The promotions span various ranks within the organization, reflecting a deliberate effort to encourage professionalism and dedication among employees.

According to the statement, 59 Deputy Directors on Grade Level 16 have been elevated to Directors at Grade Level 17. Additionally, 168 Assistant Directors (Grade Level 15) were promoted to Deputy Directors (Grade Level 16), and 167 Chief Officers (Grade Level 14) advanced to the rank of Assistant Directors (Grade Level 15). Furthermore, a total of 1,337 officers across Grade Levels 7 to 13 were also promoted in recognition of their hard work and commitment.

The statement read, “The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved the promotion of 1,731 members of staff who excelled in the 2024 promotion examinations.

“This achievement marks another milestone that underscores the commission’s unwavering commitment to enhancing staff welfare and supporting career progression.

“A detailed breakdown of the promotions reveals that: 59 Deputy Directors (Grade Level 16) have been elevated to the rank of Director (Grade Level 17); 168 Assistant Directors (Grade Level 15) were promoted to the rank of Deputy Director (Grade Level 16); 167 Chiefs (Grade Level 14) advanced to the position of Assistant Director (Grade Level 15); and 1,337 officers between Grade Levels 7 and 13 were found deserving and promoted accordingly.”
