Indigenous oil, gas coy unveils facility in Ajaokuta

An indigenous oil and Gas Company, LNG Arete Ltd. on Tuesday announced its development of a state-of-the-art mini Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility in Ajaokuta, Kogi.

The Project Director, LNG Arete Ltd., Hajara Pitan, said in a statement that the company’s mini-LNG facility was designed to address the increasing demand for LNG across Northern Nigeria.

Pitan said that the pivotal project aligned with the Federal Government’s strategic vision to optimise Nigeria’s vast gas resources, especially its autogas initiative.

She said that the facility had an initial production capacity of seven million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) with a large percentage of that capacity dedicated to Autogas.

The Project Director said that through the project, LNG Arete aimed at contributing to the building of a robust network for widespread Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) distribution.

According to her, it will drive the development of Liquefied CNG mother stations and refuelling infrastructure across Northern Nigeria.

“This investment highlights LNG Arete’s dedication to offering more affordable and accessible CNG for vehicles and industrial use presenting a cost-effective alternative to expensive diesel.

“Our efforts are closely aligned with the objectives of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (P-CNGi).

“Our partnership with the P-CNGi marks a significant step forward in our mission to enhance energy access and sustainability in Nigeria,” she said.

According to Pitan, by positioning LNG Arete as a key CNG supplier in Northern Nigeria, it is not only investing in local economic development, but also contributing to a more secure and affordable energy future for the region.

“We are excited at the positive impact this initiative will have on our communities and the broader energy landscape,” she said.

LNG Arete Ltd is a Nigerian company, dedicated to providing innovative solutions across the oil and gas sector with the mission to drive sustainable energy utilisation for the benefit of all stakeholders.
