Imo: We will submit evidence of those carrying out killings to embassies – CUPP

The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has claimed it has evidence of those sponsoring and perpetrating the killings in Imo State.

CUPP says beginning from Wednesday, it would submit the alleged evidence to the embassies of the international communities in the country.

The group, in a press conference addressed by its coordinator, Imo Ugochinyere in Abuja on Wednesday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma to order, warning that the governor may throw the country’s democracy overboard.

“I call on Imo people to stand up, don’t be scared. Imo belongs to us all. We cannot surrender it to people who lack the decency and popular way to be in office.

“With courage and unity, we can recover Imo State from this ongoing madness; they don’t own the state. They didn’t build it nor contributed to the creation of Imo State.

“We must stop them from burning down and destroying Imo State…we must send these strange men away by the power of the ballot.

“We call on the international community, who we shall take time out to visit all their embassies starting from today to submit petitions on some of the evidence we have on the killings going on in Imo State and pray for appropriate intervention sanctions.

“We’ll also share this evidence with all the local security agencies. We appreciate the foreign mission for the visa ban but we want their assets frozen and arrests made once they enter their countries

“Let me call on President Muhammadu Buhari to note that his promise to deliver a fair, free and credible election is under attack.

“That legacy can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and security. Mr President, call Hope Uzodinma to order now before he throws our democracy overboard “
