Immigration rescue four individuals from traffickers in Jigawa

The Jigawa state command of the Nigeria immigration Service (NIS) has intercepted four victims from being trafficked.
The NIS officials rescued the victims at Tsamiyar Ilu checkpoint in kazaure local Government area of Jigawa state on their way to cross the border to Niger Republic.
According to the NIS, the victims are Ahmed Ibrahim, 25; Ibrahim Rafatu, 17; Nafisat Jibril, 32, all from Kogi state and Mustapha Zulqarlaini.
All the victims confessed to the immigration that they were on their way to Sauran local government area of Katsina state to cross the border to Niger Republic for their onward destination to Libya.
All the suspects confessed that they have sisters who are residing in Libya and they intended to join them.
While the accomplice suspect, Mustapha who claims to be the uncle of the victim and facilitate their journey from Kano to Daura confirmed that they have the mission to achieve.
The controller of the command Mr Samson Agada said they have contacted all the parents of victims and confirmed that they are aware of their children’s journey on the account of poverty.
The controller revealed that he has handed over the four suspects to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) who are responsible for human trafficking to take all the necessary measures.
He therefore appealed to all parents to watch over their children’s movement from being deceived by such people like Mustapha Zulqarlaini with a view to address irregular migration to the nearest minimum.
