Nigerian NewsDirect’s Publisher, Dr. Samuel Ibiyemi was over the weekend honoured with a merit award by the Ijoko Central Area Community Development Association (ACDC), Ado/odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State for his philanthropic contribution towards a 2.5km road rehabilitation.

The merit award  was conferred on him following the recognition of his excellent contributions to the development affairs of the Community.

Speaking at the award ceremony on Saturday, the Chairman of the ACDC, Barrister K.O Odeyemi, said the Publisher did not get the award because he is the chairman or an Executive member of the community, but because of his impacts on the community.

According to him, Ibiyemi has been active in terms of financial assistance to the community, stating that he contributes about 60 to 70 per cent of financial resources when the need arises.

“He bags the award because no one has ever meet up with what he has been doing to the community and its environs,” he said.

He  stressed that the annual rehabilitation of the  2.5 Km road by the Publisher is a feat which no one has ever met.

The Chairman assured support of the Community to always partner with Nigerian NewsDirect on business terms.
