Ijebu North former LG boss, Tele Ogunjobi leads thousands of supporters from PDP to APC

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chairman of Ijebu North local government in Ogun State, Hon. Tele Ogunjobi has led no fewer than 5,000 members of the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ogunjobi, who contested for the PDP ticket of the House of Representatives of Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside federal constituency during the primaries had alongside his loyalists in the federal constituency dumped the opposition party and were received by Gov. Dapo Abiodun on Monday.
The Ago Iwoye born frontline politician, said that he and his supporters left the PDP due to the party’s lack of focus and his conviction on the leadership style of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
He said the governor had been able to deliver on his electioneering promises to the people of Ifelodun, Ijebu-North, the area he came from and the entire State.
Ogunjobi said the entire Ifesowapo, now belongs to the ruling APC, charging all his supporters to go out and campaign for the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections
Welcoming the foremost politician and hordes of his supporters, Gov Prince Dapo Abiodun said APC remains the Party with good ideology and love for the masses.
He said he was overjoyed with the decision of the people to join the APC, vowing that the party was ready to accommodate all
He said that the “mass defection of members of the opposition party to the ruling APC is an evident that the people have made up their minds to continue to support good government with clear focus.
Abiodun disclosed that people are daily trooping into the ruling party because it is so glaring that the APC remains a rallying point both at the state and national level.
He described Ogunjobi as a big fish and another influential political leader in Ogun East, who is coming into APC with thousands of followers, saying that the ruling party is big enough to accommodate all.
He lauded Ogunjobi “for being courageous enough to leave the PDP with his followers to team up with the APC,” assuring that his government will immediately integrate them into the mainstream of the party.
