Ife Club 25 inaugurates new president

The IFE CLUB 25 has during the weekend inaugurated, Alhaji Muritala Olaobaju as the new President of the Club. The new executives would steer the affairs of the Club for another three years.

Olaobaju is the 18th President of the Club since it was founded in 1977. The new executives was swore-in in accordance with the constitution of the Club.

The Club was established to promote social interaction, culture and values of the ancient metropolis of Ile-Ife. The Club is the first indigenous Club in Ile-Ife.

In his acceptance speech, the new President thanked members of the Club for electing and giving him opportunity to serve the Club. He congratulated the new executive members on their inauguration and looking forward to their cooperation to steer the ship of the Club.

“This Club is one of the foremost Clubs in this land to have its own Club house. The members are fully committed to the ideas and commitments of our founding fathers.

“We will continue to build on the legacies of our founding fathers to ensure that their efforts are not in vain,” he said.

Olaobaju listed plans of the Club to include membership drive and development, community development, philanthropic gesture, visitation to correctional centres, motherless home, hospitals among others with a view to give to the vurnerables to live abundant life.

In his speech, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi represented by Oba Muyiwa Adesiyan, Eleyenla of Eyenla, said he is glad with developmental stride of the Club.

He said, “Today’s inauguration coincided with the International Day of Men which is significant to the Club because the Club consists of men of integrity.

“The Club has established itself and played its roles in human and community developments. Members of the Club believe in equity and justice for all irrespective of status.”

Oba Adeyeye urged the Club not to relent in its good work it has been doing and prayed for the Club to continue to waxe stronger.

Similarly, a High Court Judge, Justice Omobolanle Akinyele-Lawal congratulated the new executive members of Ife Clu 25 on the new position bestowed on them. She prayed God to continue to be with the Club.

The Chairman, Ife Central-West LCDA, Hon. Olubisi Oladosu described the Club as unique and best among Clubs in Ile-Ife, urging members of the Club to continue their giant stride in human and community developments.
