The global energy crisis and efforts to increase energy efficiency are to be the focus of the International Energy Agency (IEA) conference in Versailles next to Paris kicking off on Tuesday.
Energy efficiency is the first and best response to ensure security of supply and keep energy affordable, the IEA said ahead of the start of the three-day meeting.
Government representatives from over 30 countries as well as more than 40 company heads were expected to travel to the city to the South-west of Paris to attend the conference.
At the start of the meeting, the IEA planned to present a report on how different countries were dealing with the energy crisis as well as their commitment to more energy efficiency and affordable prices.
The report also looked at the achievement of climate targets, the impact of new government policies, record investment in energy efficiency and energy awareness campaigns.
