The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched an investigation into N10 billion worth of federal government projects in Osun State.
Speaking over the weekend, ICPC tracking team leader, Mary Oke said the goal is to ensure transparency, accountability and value for money in the implementation of these projects.
Oke said that the commission commenced project tracking valued N10,470,872,906.60, including 8 solar-powered boreholes, 120 solar streetlights, and drainage systems, roads in various communities.
According to ICPC tracking team leader, “The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) commenced the Phase 7 of its Constituency and Executive Project Tracking Exercise in Osun State.
“The Commission will track projects valued at N10,470,872,906.60 in Osun State, ensuring that government-funded projects provide value for money and are executed according to specifications. This exercise is part of the Commission’s mandate to promote accountability and transparency in the implementation of public projects.
“During the tracking exercise, the Commission will assess the status of various constituency and executive projects, ensuring that public resources are judiciously utilised to deliver quality infrastructure and services to the citizens.
“The Commission calls on relevant stakeholders, including community members and civil society organisations, to support the tracking exercise by providing the Commission with relevant information that can aid in achieving its objectives.”
