ICAN donates textbooks to college in Oyo

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ibadan and District Society, on Wednesday donated books to Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora.

Our Correspondent reports that  textbooks donated are in eight different courses in Accounting .

Among the books are: Business Communication and Research Methodology, Principles of Audit, Information Technology, Management Information System and Cost Accounting.

Others are: Principles and Practice of Financial Accounting, Business and Finance and Management.

Mr Abiodun Adedeji, the 21st Chairman of ICAN Ibadan and District Society, explained that  the  donation was the association’s support for OYSCATECH.

“It is hoped that your institution will make use of the books judiciously to enhance the quality of teaching of students in order to produce world class graduates,” Adedeji said.

Alhaji Sarafa Agbogun, the OYSCATECH Bursar , while receiving the books on behalf of the instiution, appreciated the leadership of ICAN for the donation.

Agbogun said that the donation would assist the growth of Accounting programme in the college as well as the Faculty of Management and Communication.

He called on other professional bodies to emulate the kind gesture of ICAN Ibadan and District Society.

Recall that OYSCATECH had introduced Accounting to its curricula upon the change of the institution’s status from monotechnic to polytechnic.
