Ibom Air celebrates 2m passengers’ target in 2022

Ibom Airliner, owned and operated by the Akwa Ibom State Government celebrated its two million passengers target 2022 on Friday, saying the feat came as envisaged in their business plan for year 2022.

This feat comes even as the airline is set to commence regional flight operations in the first quarter of 2023, to expand its services throughout African continent.

A statement issued and signed by the Marketing and Communication Manager, Mrs Aniekan Essienette and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Friday said, the target was earlier predicted and it has come to pass .

“Ibom Air, this morning recorded its 2 millionth passenger.

“The airline’s sophisticated algorithm had calculated that the milestone would be reached on the 16th of December. And the exact flight turned out to be the 11:30am Uyo to Lagos flight”.

Essienette said, the management of Ibom Air led by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. George Uriesi, was on hand to do the countdown to the 2 million passengers, who turned out to be Ms. Ifeoma Chiadika to hit the two million passenger mark.

Chidiaka, a 22 year old fresh graduate of Communication Arts from the University of Uyo received accolades from the company for such dear.

“We congratulate you on emerging our 2 million passenger. Ibom Air greatly appreciates your patronage and we do not take any single one of our 2 million passengers for granted.

” We promise to continue to work hard to maintain the high standards that we have come to be known for and customers like you, have come to expect of us”.

She said Chiadika, the lucky passenger, was given a premium return ticket and a certificate of recognition as Ibom Air’s 2 millionth passenger.

It would be recalled that Ibom Air commenced operations on 7 June 2019 and since then, the airline has operated more than 27,000 scheduled, commercial flights.

It has a fleet of seven Aircrafts: five Bombardier CRJ 900 and two Airbus A320-300, covering seven destinations.
