Ibeju-Lekki LG partners PAN Atlantic University on tutorials for students

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government in Lagos State has partnered the PAN Atlantic University on tutorial classes for public secondary school students to achieve more developmental goals on education within the area.

The Executive Chairman of the council, Mr Abdullahi Olowa, disclosed this in a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday.

He said the partnership would advance the educational standard of students in the local government.

Olowa noted that his administration had always expressed passion for public private partnership as a means of achieving developmental goals, saying it cannot be solely and thoroughly achieved by local governments without support.

“We have concluded an arrangement with the university situated within the council area to provide free coaching classes for students of Senior Secondary Schools across the local government.

“This is an attempt to create an extra learning time for these students as well as prepare them for future exams.

“The arrangement was sealed in the Executive Chairman’s Office when the Director of Development of the University, Dr Frank Wiggle, paid a courtesy visit to the council,’’ he said.

Olowa quoted Wiggle in his remarks during the visit as commending his administration for its commitment to educational development which is one of the reasons for partnership by the university.

“Wiggle, in addition, explained that the students would be taught by the undergraduate students and staff of Pan Atlantic University within the top citadel of learning complex.

“He said that the local government would take care of other logistics during the process.

“According to him, the programme is scheduled to begin before the end of April, and subjects to be taught are, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, Economics and Mathematics, respectively.

“Wiggle said it was certain that students benefitting from the programme would be improved academically and be better prepared for the future academic challenges,’’ Olowa said.

He further said that those classes would be slated for every Saturday when the coaching begins.
