IBEDC promises Olubadan better service delivery in Ibadan

The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has promised the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, better services for the people of Ibadanland.

IBEDC acting Managing Director, Francis Agoha, gave his word on Thursday when he led his management team on a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler in Ibadan.

Agoha said his visit was to identify with the king’s efforts to promote peace and stability by providing a stable power supply for the palace and the people.

According to him, the company’s technical team has been working round the clock to ensure all processes to connect the palace to the nearest 33KVA line are soon completed.

“We take the traditional council in the land as our critical partner because they are in charge of citizens’ coordination.

“Without their coordination, no business can operate successfully; identifying with them helps us to improve our services to the citizens,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the Olubadan, the Asipa of Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, lauded IBEDC for the improved power supply within the Ibadan metropolis.

He charged the company to proffer lasting solutions to power supply challenges in the palace and other areas in Ibadan.

Kola-Daisi says the palace receives a lot of dignitaries from all works of life every day, thus requiring a constant power supply.

According to him, this will reduce the money spent on the daily purchase of diesel.

Responding, the Ibadan Regional Head of IBEDC, Mr Oluwasogo Olufayo, affirmed that Gov. Seyi  Makinde had approved the request to procure a transformer for the palace.

He added that the technical team would swing into action after all processes by the palace contractor were completed
