IBB University to award 37 first-class degrees at Convocation

The Vice-Chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, IBBU, Lapai Niger State, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has disclosed that the institution is set to graduate 37 students with First Class Degrees.

The Vice Chancellor of the state-owned university, who made this known at a press conference in Minna, said a total of 6,154 Degree and Postgraduate students will be convocated at a ceremony to be held on Saturday, 20th May.

Adamu disclosed that 17 students were advised to withdraw due to their inability to cope with academic stress while seven others were expelled for engaging in misconduct such as drug abuse, cybercrime among others.

He said, ” A total of 954 graduates would be presented with second class upper certificates while 3, 283 would get second class lower division degrees. A total of 1,538 will be graduating with 3rd class Degrees and 17 others with a Pass.

The Vice-Chancellor said 5,719 of the students will be from the undergraduate section while 435 students are from the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), and Masters Degrees.

Prof. Adamu said 2 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), 19 Masters of Art, 92 Masters of Science, 68 Masters of Education, 204 Professional Masters and 50 Postgraduates.
