…Lagos Governor Receives Silverbird Governor of the Year Award
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has pledged to continue providing effective governance and ensuring the benefits of democracy reach Lagos residents. He stated that receiving the Silverbird Governor of the Year Award would serve as further encouragement to enhance his efforts for the people.
Governor Sanwo-Olu made this remark on Sunday night after accepting the prestigious award at a ceremony held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island. He received the accolade alongside members of the Lagos State Executive Council and senior government officials.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who dedicated the award to the people of Lagos State, vowed to intensify his efforts and remain steadfast in delivering effective governance and democratic benefits to the citizens.
The Governor also commended President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging that the visionary leadership and transformative policies of Lagos State’s first governor in the Fourth Republic had laid the foundation for the city’s growth into a thriving metropolis.
Governor Sanwo-Olu further described President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda as the key to Nigeria’s economic revival.
He said: “This award is a tribute to the diligent and resilient people of Lagos State who have supported our vision and initiatives. Your steadfast belief is what drives our commitment to excellence.
“I am grateful to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor and the visionary architect of modern Lagos. His leadership and transformative policies established the foundation for our vibrant, progressive city.
“I remain dedicated to ensuring that effective governance remains central to our administration and that you continue to enjoy the benefits of democracy.
“Together, we have made significant progress; let us keep working side by side to build a brighter future for every Lagosian.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu also expressed his appreciation to the Silverbird Group for honouring him with the Governor of the Year Award.
