I have never displayed any act of corruption – Taraba PRP Chairman

The embattled chairman of the Taraba State Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Taraba State, Abdullahi Maikasuwa has denied the corruption allegations levelled against him by some aggrieved members of the party.

Despite the allegations, Maikasuwa has expressed determination to continue to preside over the affairs of the party as chairman.

On his purported suspension, following numerous allegations, including alleged corruption and anti-party activities, among others, he said those behind such acts, have no constitutional power to executive such powers, insisting that due process was not followed.”

The embattled chairman who made this known on Tuesday while presenting a certificate of return to candidates jostling for various elective positions in Jalingo on the platform of the PRP said those seeking his head have no genuine reasons.

He said those trying to paint his good name black were only out to destroy the party’s superwaves established for possible victory in the next coming election.

He alleged that those behind the allegation were being sponsored by both the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and the All Progressive Congress (APC).

He said the sponsors of the attack on his person are threatened, having seen that the waves of victory were favouring the PRP in Taraba.

Stressing that “I want to make it clear to you that, I am not suspended, and I do not have corruption elements in me, I have never displayed any act of corruption or any act that is contrary to the provisions of our party’s constitution. ”

“The national Secretariat of our party is headed by people of integrity who would not accommodate any corrupt practice from any one” those behind the “false allegations against me are being sponsored by both PDP and APC to destroy the super waves been established by our party for a possible victory.”

He said, “both the PDP and APC are feeling threatened by the kind of support we are gaining by the day ahead of the election, and they have succeeded in injecting into some of our members to destroy our waves ahead of the election.”

Urging the aggrieved party members to sheath their swords by joining hands with him to catapult the party to the height, he said such a call if adhered to, will push the party to victory after the elections.
