Hoodlums threaten Ogun community

Some concerned residents of a community under the auspices of Peace Arena, in Baba Ode area, Itusin, Ilogbo-Asowo town in Ogun state have lamented over threats to lives and properties by some hoodlums and land grabbers.

The hoodlums purportedly led by one Titus Kolawole Oyeyemi, Musibau (Asoju-Oba ) and land grabbers who came with some members of Nigeria Civil Defence and Safety Corps (NSDSC) and louts, laid claims to have bought about 80 Acres of land from Adelupo family in the community.

According to one of the residents, Pastor Ogunolorundele stated that most occupants bought lands from Itusin families with requisite evidences of ownership.

He expressed shock that having lived in the community for over a decade, he suddenly encountered one Titus Kolawole Oyeyemi, claiming that he owned some properties in the community.

He added that this same Titus claimed to have bought and owned at least 50 Acres of land from Adelupo family and purchased another 30 Acres from Ogun state government making all his claims to be 80 Acres of land.

Subsequently, this impostor has continuously threatened them to vacate the land since 2017.

Ogunlorunlese further revealed that Titus also threatened to make fence round the community-land, an attempt, which he said, the community members have resisted vehemently on several occasions.

He affirmed that though the case is still pending in court, residents especially Artisans working on the only two plots of land owned by the accused in the community have been under threat of forceful eviction.

He said that they believe the culprit would demolish over 109 houses and fence the contending areas  under litigation any moment from now.

The said building construction taking place on the properties was being supervised by one ‘Supo’ Superintendent Awoyemi of Sango Police Area Command despite court order stopping anyone from carrying out any construction on the land.

The residents thereby called on the Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Commissioner of Police, CP Ajogun Awolowo, Chief Justice of Ogun state and relevant authorities to intervene in order to prevent harm and bloodshed.
