Women-focused fintech startup, Herconomy, previously known as AGS Tribe has announced that it will be partnering with Qatar Airways.
In a press statement disclosed to Nigerian NewsDirect, the organization noted that the partnership is “in line with the newly launched fintech’s goal to create financial freedom and improve the standard of living for its community members.”
According to the fintech company, this partnership allows Gold members of the community access to flights at a discounted rate.
“Gold members of Herconomy can now enjoy incredible discounts, through an electronic bank card that allows them access to a large group of partners who are part of Herconomy’s affinity partnership network.
“Affinity partnerships such as this will significantly contribute to the economic empowerment that Herconomy is driving for their community.”
News of this partnership was disclosed at the renowned Airline’s headquarters located in Victoria Island, Lagos. In attendance were Business Development Manager, Herconomy, Charles Nwosu; Program Manager, Herconomy, Anu Anibaba. In attendance from the Qatar team were Country Manager, Nigeria, Kennedy K. Chirchir; Senior Sales Executive, Nigeria, Henry Ugeh;E-Commerce Officer, Nigeria, Omolola Ojo.
The Founder of Herconomy, Ifedayo Durosinmi- Etti, stated that this partnership was not only inspired by Herconomy’s goal but is also personal; her love for women and life.
Earlier in the year, when it announced its partnership with global retail giant Amazon, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti said, “ Our goal is to create a space where women can thrive economically, we want them to have access to opportunities that other women in more developed countries have.”
Herconomy prides itself on being value-oriented, constantly seeking ways to improve the standard of living for its community members. In the context of this partnership, travel is undoubtedly a big part of business and personal development, therefore access to affordable travel is a crucial need that many women would greatly value.
She mentioned that a significant part of her development is derived from the opportunity and access to the world. She has witnessed, and as a result, understands the contrast between the financial freedom women enjoy in more developed countries and Nigeria.
“Traveling fosters a medium to build human connections with one another. The opportunity to travel, grow, learn something new, new cultures, and see the way people live their day to day lives in different parts of the world. That is truly the best on-site learning a person can get, and we’re so grateful to Qatar for allowing our community to leverage this opportunity,” Ifedayo Durosinmi Etti said.
Herconomy is one of the organisations championing financial inclusion for women, and is fast building a solid track record of dedication and commitment towards the growth and development of Nigerian women. This partnership offer is merely one of Herconomy’s value offerings.
To round off the year, Herconomy plans to strengthen its affinity partnerships with key private sector players to create more value for its members. The Herconomy App will be launching a new savings feature in November, where members can save efficiently and enjoy more of the platform’s value offering.
