Heir escapes assassination attempt over inherited land
…Husband flees for his life
Kolawole Ola Ololade, a young heir, narrowly escaped death when armed men attacked her residence in Famiha Village, Modakeke, Osun State, targeting the expansive land she inherited from her parents. According to anonymous neighbours, the assailants forcefully entered the premises around 2:30 AM, overpowering the security guard and gaining access to the main house. They searched for Ololade while local vigilantes, alerted by neighbours, arrived promptly and engaged the intruders in a fierce shootout. Some attackers were killed, while others escaped with injuries of varying severity.
Investigations revealed that this was not the first attack on Ololade. Sources suggest it was the fifth or sixth assault in the past year, coinciding with her inheritance of the valuable land containing an unnamed precious mineral. The heir has reportedly resisted numerous offers from land speculators within and outside the state, opting to manage the property alongside her husband, Kolawole Ola King.
Further inquiries and testimonies from neighbours and friends indicate that King adamantly opposed selling the land despite persistent pressure and threats from speculators. He was attacked multiple times, including a recent assault at his workplace that forced him to flee for safety. Despite efforts by Ololade and their families to locate him, King remains elusive.
Police investigations into King’s whereabouts and the identity of the assailants are ongoing. Anyone with pertinent information is urged to come forward. Ololade, too, appears to have gone into hiding, as attempts to contact her have been unsuccessful.
