The Chairman of Guri Local Government Area, Alhaji Shua’ibu Mahammadu who sympathized with victims described the disaster as an occurrence from God which was inevitable but prayed that God would prevent the re-occurrence of such disaster.
Alhaji Muhammadu Guidan Aliyu, who represented the chairman expressed shock over the disaster, stating that the relief materials distributed included: 100 pieces of rubber mats, 50 bags of blankets, 100 sets of mosquito nets, 15 bags of garri, five bags of sugar, and one pack canoe soap, as well as drugs and other materials.
