Guber election: Police raise alarm over alleged plans to import thugs

The Kano State Police Command has raised the alarm over politicians’ alleged plan to import thugs ahead of the 11th March election.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, issued to reporters.

The statement warned all thugs, mischief makers, and miscreants to stay away from the state as the Command will not relent in its effort to deal decisively with troublemakers.

He said the warnings became necessary after police received information that some disgruntled politicians are planning to import thugs to the state to disrupt the forthcoming election.

Kiyawa said the police are working with other security agencies for the arrest and prosecution of political thugs.

He noted that the arrested thugs will also be charged to court alongside their sponsors.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Dauda, urged the good people of the state to cooperate with security agencies to continue to record a zero-violence election.
