Group urges youths to recant protests, dialogues with govt

The Director General of Owojori Network Consult, Alhaji Lawal Bayero has called on the youths to end protest to forestall nationwide destruction of property nd spread of violence.

The Director General made the disclosure while addressing journalists during a world press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.

The media briefing was in collaboration with Young Alliance for Good Governance in Africa (YAGA) Centre for Reform and Public Advocacy.

He said ” let us embrace dialogue and engage in peaceful negotiations with government by resolving the underlying issues.

” Government should demonstrate commitment to reforms, accountability to ensure citizens engagement and social integration.

” Civil Society should facilitate dialogue, promote peaceful resolution and support constructive engagement between government and citizenry.

” International community should encourage peaceful resolutions, offer technical assistance and support human rights and democratic ideals.”

The prospects of the group is to ensure peaceful resolution, restore stability to attract investment that will promote development and to ensure national reconciliation.

The group recommended that there should be constructive engagement with the media influencers and celebrities as a mediating voice between the government and the people.

” Promotion of the hashtag #EmbraceDailogue# across all social platforms to serve as a solidarity campaign to calm down tension nationwide.
