Group urges Tinubu to prioritize economy, citizens welfare

A non-governmental organisation, Save The Poor And Needy Charity Initiative (SPANCI), has urged President Bola Tinubu to, without wasting more time, focus on policies that will boost the nation’s economy.

The group made the call on Tuesday.

News Men recalls that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had last week dismissed petitions filled against Tinubu’s election by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.

SPANCI in its reaction to the affirmation of Tinubu’s election by the tribunal, advised the President to henceforth focus on improving the wellbeing of the citizens.

The group, in a statement signed by its President, Comrade Yemi Ezekiel Bello, said, “We want Mr President to now focus on developmental projects that will boost the economy of the nation in a way that will make life easy for Nigerians.

“We also want concentration on the security of lives and properties of people and to also charge the law enforcement agents to respect the right to the dignity of the people as enshrined in Section 14 (1) (2) (a) (b) (c) and Section 34 (1) (a) (b) and (c) of our 1999 Constitution as amended in the spirit of true democracy and social justice.”
