Consutium of foreign investors who visited Akwa Ibom on fact finding mission have felicitated former governor Udom Emmanuel on the completion of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhauling (MRO) facilities, the International Wing at the Victor Attah International Airport.
The group, which completed their two day tour of the state on Friday said, they are satisfied with the arable land that can enhance agriculture development/other infrastructural development of the state and, promised to establish their presence in the area of aeronautical and aviation development in Akwa Ibom soon.
The team lead, Engr. Roy MacPherson said the state is blessed with abundant human and natural resources if appropriately harnessed, would impact on the well-being of the state.
He said, the development of any society hinches on the people and urged the new administration to focus also on building or developing the people to sustain the tempo of what they saw else, the contributions of past regimes would be vanity.
Engr. MacPherson, who was accompanied by Engr. (Dr.) Nicholas Ekpoette from the Australian Institute of Aviation Management thanked the former governor for completing those life-touching projects at the airport and expressed the optimism that, Akwa Ibom would be investors destination in Africa in few years to come.
According to him, “I am impressed by what we saw on ground here and, we hope more would be done to attract my colleagues to be here also.
“Akwa Ibom seems to be a peaceful state and, I believe the former governor Udom did well there; as an important ingredient of development.
“We pray the tempo would be sustain bye every successive administration of this place. Akwa Ibom would be greater than what we saw in a couple of years to come.”
