…Vows to increase nation’s life expectancy to 70years

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) known as Dr Save A Live Foundation has launched a software APP in Port Harcourt,the Rivers State capital, promising to increase the life expectancy of Nigerians from the current 54 years to 70 years in 2025.
This was revealed in a chat with journalists Saturday in Port Harcourt by the President of Dr-Save A Live Foundation,Dr Richard Okoye.
According to him, the APP is meant to give medical assistance to patients where there is no doctor, before such persons are taken to the hospital.
Dr Okoye said the APP has been translated into several local and international languages in simple tense devoid of medical terminologies and as such ,can be understood by everybody.
He emphasized that the intention of the software is not to encourage self-medication,but to provide medical help where there is no doctor.
The Dr-Save A Live Foundation CEO said research carried out in Rivers State shows that there are no hospitals in virtually all the local government areas in the state, hence the need for such medical assistance in case of emergency.
Dr Okoye who is also the CEO of Multisoft Limited,USA said in view of the difficulties suffered by women and children living at rural areas,the APP becomes handy and useful in providing medical help to them during health emergencies.
He pointed out that the APP is currently being used in over 176 countries of the world, including Europe and America.
He stressed that making people understand the source of their problem will go a long way to helping them even better than medication.
“ Dr Save A Live APP is to provide medical help where there is no doctor. The APP can be accessed for further information. In the event of health emergency,it is designed to address primary health challenges of our people,” Dr Okoye said.
The Medisoft MD said apart from the medical information,all the addresses and phone numbers of all the hospitals in Rivers State, Nigeria and beyond are contained in the APP.
“Most communities in the state do not have hospitals at all,so what is the fate of the women and children living in such areas. The situation in the North is worse. About one-fifth of children born in Nigeria don’t live to celebrate their 5th year anniversary”,Dr Okoye lamented.
“The Dr Save A Live Foundation President said that immunization guide is also provided in the APP to save women from carrying cards around. The APP,he said is simply a medical encyclopedia.
Dr. Okoye called on men of goodwill, organisations and the media to partner with Dr Save A Live Foundation for the betterment of the society.
