Group advises Assembly to ignore calls for rejection of 5 Emirates

The Kano State Branch of the Northern Youth Awareness Council, (NOYAC) has urged the Kano State House of Assembly to reject any demands for the dissolution of the Five Kano Emirates in the state.

Ambassador Mahmoud Sa’id, the State Chairman of NOYAC made the call while addressing newsmen in Kano on Monday.

He said that their advocacy was driven by the concern that certain individuals were attempting to regress Kano’s progress, emphasizing the positive impact that the five emirates have had on the region’s development.

He highlighted the positive impact that the five emirates have had on the region’s development, emphasising their long-standing history predating the colonial era.

Ambassador Sa’id reiterated the importance of the emirates as a bridge between the government and local communities, highlighting their role in connecting rural areas to the central Kano Emirate.

He also urged youth to support Governor Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf in implementing further development projects and cautioned against the use of hate speech, emphasising the crucial role of peace in society.
