Governorship election: Stop daydreaming about PDP winning Osun — State APC tells Ayu
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, to stop daydreaming with the impossible mission of his party to win the Osun State governorship election slated for July 16, 2022.
It would be recalled that Ayu stated in his address at the presidential primaries of the PDP in Abuja last Saturday that the focus and mission of the opposition party is to win the governorship elections in both Osun and Ekiti states in order to hike the morale of the members of the party.
The PDP National Chairman also hinted that the successful conduct of the party’s presidential convention was an indication that Nigerians are desperately longing for the comeback of the party at various levels of government in this country.
According to a statement from Kola Olabisi, the Media Adviser to the Osun State Chairman of the APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun, which was issued in Osogbo, the state capital yesterday, this assertion by the PDP national helmsman is an insult to the sensibilities of the people of this country who could not forget in a hurry the 16-year misrule and reign of terror inflicted on the citizenry.
“For Ayu to have carelessly mouthed Osun State as their target for electoral victory in the forthcoming governorship election is an indication that he has not been abreast with the situation of things in the state where talk-and-act Governor Gboyega Oyetola has been transforming the state to the admiration of the people of the state.
“The projection of the PDP to win the governorship election is a mere wishful thinking and an impossible utopia which is dead on arrival.
“It’s high time that the national chairman of the opposition party knew that the people of Osun State cannot afford to entrust the management of the state to a kindergarten political lilliputian whose aim is to make the state a laboratory.
“We sympathise with Ayu as he is a victim of misinformation about the authentic parlous state of the PDP in Osun State.
“Ayu should stop insulting the right judgment and thinking of the people of Osun State as they are informed and lettered enough to differentiate between gold and aluminium on their respective value.
“The people of Osun State are not ready to go back to Egypt for servitude, violence, corruption, misgovernance, insecurity, lack of accountability in public office, self-enrichment etc.
“It takes ingenuity to govern Osun State which Oyetola is endowed with in abundance which has been successfully working wonders for him in the office.
“Ayu should perish his wishful thinking of his party slating Osun State for a grab as it is an impossible mission which is only realisable in the realm of the dream.
“We, however, congratulate the national chairman of the PDP on his luck to have stumbled on an additional source of income at the source of his preferred embattled PDP governorship candidate in Osun State who would always be there for him at a mention of phoney and an obvious impossible election success of their very difficult-to-sell candidate.
“Dr Ayu should stop playing a dirty politics with the people of Osun State by wishing the state the type of the PDP governorship candidate as the state governor when it is pungent clear that he could not pray for same for Benue State where he hails from,” the statement read.
