Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has said he received with a heavy heart the news of the demise of his former Director of Campaign and close Associate, Alhaji Jamilu Aliyu (Zannan Gusau).
According to a press statement signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on media, Comrade Zailani Bappa, the news of his demise and that of his mother in-law was indeed a great test of the will from the Almighty Allah.
“In a very sober mood, the Governor submits the twin losses to the Almighty Allah and acknowledged that all souls must test the pain of death, just as all the living must experience the pain of losing their loved ones,” the statement added.
Governor Matawalle extolled the remarkable virtues of late Jamilu Zannah, whom he described as a trusted and reliable confidant and a very serious and committed person in pusuit of good leadership for the people.
“I have always held the late Zannah in high esteem and have given him my confidence for his brilliance, honesty commitment and loyalty.
“I hereby extend my
profound condolence to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gusau and the loving family of the late Zannah. I seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness on the gentle soul of my trusted Associate, the late Zanna, who has been an inspiring leader and a very enterprising politician”, Matawalle prayed.
The Governor also extended his sympathy to the entire people of Gusau Emirate and the state at large over the loss as, according to him, “the loss is ours as a whole”.
