Gov Diri extends Eid-el-Fitr greetings to muslims

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has called on Muslims to embrace the lessons of sacrifice, tolerance, and love as they mark the end of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-el-Fitri.

In a statement issued to Muslim faithful in Bayelsa and across Nigeria, Governor Diri emphasised the importance of fasting during Ramadan as a pillar of Islam, stressing its role in fostering self-discipline and tolerance among adherents.

Also in the statement dated March 30, 2025, and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, the Governor encouraged Muslims to continue praying for the peace, progress, and prosperity of both Bayelsa State and Nigeria.

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to promoting love, harmony, and religious tolerance, irrespective of residents’ beliefs or ethnic backgrounds.

The Governor concluded by wishing all Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

Diri said, “We are committed to promoting peaceful co-existence between and among adherents of the different faiths in order to build a prosperous state for everyone to realise their dreams.

“I wish our Muslim brethren a happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration.”
