The governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke has sought support from the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for massive job creations.
In a statement, the Director of Information and Protocol, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, disclosed this on Wednesday.
Adeleke, during a courtesy visit to the office of Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, NASENI, Bashir Gwandu in Abuja, expressed interest by the Osun State citizens to participate in the ongoing Skill Acquisition Training and Youth Empowerment Programme.
Also, the Gov called for the need to fast-track take-off of the proposed Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Development Institute (AMEDI).
Recall that the federal government had approved six (6) Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Development Institutes (AMEDI), one per geopolitical zone of the country.
According to Governor Adeleke, “We are ready for action not only on the establishment of AMEDI, but the establishment of a technology industrial park in Osun State.
“We will also welcome NASENI services and products in our State. My requests are many, so I recommend that NASENI and Osun State work out a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between your Agency and my State”.
Responding, Gwandu said his vision for NASENI was to introduce new strategies for how the Agency would work or to see its products in the market, competing in Nigeria and with technology products from other countries worldwide.
The EVC used the opportunity to solicit the Nigerian Governors’ Forum’s funding support.
