Gov. Abiodun mourns late Ogun REC, Barrister Ijalaye, in Ibadan

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, visited the family of the late Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barrister Olaniyi Ijalaye, in Ibadan, to offer his condolences. Abiodun described the deceased as a forthright, honest, humble, dependable, and dedicated individual who served his country meritoriously.

The Governor noted that Ijalaye’s demise was a shock to him and his cabinet, but his impactful life was worthy of emulation.

He highlighted Ijalaye’s successful supervision of elections and his reputation as an uncompromising and fair umpire.

Abiodun encouraged the family to take comfort in Ijalaye’s integrity and dedication to public service, saying, “Although bad things also happen to good people, we take solace in the fact that Barrister Ijalaye was a man of integrity who served his country with utmost dedication.”

He added, “May God rest his soul and protect those he left behind. We sympathise with the entire Ijalaye family and take comfort in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life of integrity and indelible impact.”
